LJGT June Player of the Month: Kevin Zheng

Lafayette, Louisiana – Our May Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Player of the Month is Mr. Kevin Zheng. Residing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kevin is currently a student at Catholic High School. Kevin has been an avid player on the tour and was at the top of the leaderboard for many tournaments last season! We had the privilege of conducting an interview with Zheng, where he shared insights into his golf success. Here are his responses!


What is you favorite golf course you have played so far?

TPC Sawgrass


What college do you plan on attending?

I’d like to go to Stanford.


If you could play golf with anyone in the world, who would you pick?

Max Homa and Chris Pratt because they seem like nice people.


When did you start playing golf?

9 years old


What inspired you to take up the game?

My dad


What is your favorite memory from playing golf?

To make friends.


Describe your pre-round routine.

See it. Feel it. Hit it


Any superstitions or rituals before a tournament?

None.


What’s your go-to club in a challenging situation?

Driver


What is your dream course to play?

Augusta National


If you were a golf club, which would you be and why?

I would be a putter because you always need a putter


What is your go-to snack and/or food/meal to get you “tournament ready”?

Roast beef sandwich


Who is someone you love to play with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?

David Marsh or Drew Prieto


What advice would you give to aspiring young golfers?

Love the game!


Favorite hobbies or activities besides golf?

Building computers and playing video games
